Ah….so this news pretty much helps put all doubts to rest. To get a scholarship in malaysia, you need to get a “certain” number of As (can anyone tell me how many?) and you need to excel in sports ( can someone tell me how they measure this? participation in manly outdoor cooking counts or not?)

Off topic today= want to share with you whats on my playlist this month
Been listening heavily to Nanase Aikawa’s comeback album after a long 4 year hiatus ( yeah, i like jrock, so bite me). This is a totally new 180 degree change of direction for the queen of rock as the new album sound skews totally to techno/rock/pop realm. A lot of dedicated and loyal fans couldnt accept her new sound but to me, its just a coming of age for her. Hey, no one can sing the same old tune forever right ?
To be fair, Nanase already released two concept albums prior to this, hinting at her coming of age and change of sound for her. The two concept albums, titled The Last Quarter and The First Quarter was very sentimental/jazzy and to me, it was an unbelievable new sound to explore.

Yeah, so the initial fanboys reviews are bad but i do encourage you to check it out regardless. who knows, perhaps your playlist will grow from just the typical american/british pop/rock genre?

Oh yeah, this has gotta be the best japanese restaurant in midvalley.
Went there weeks back with friends and colleagues- ordered tons of food and halfway through our meal, we ran into this :

yes, its a cockroach...
Yup, this cockroach just ran right up to our table and my friends (gals) just started screaming! i killed it, and asked for the manager. This lady, who is dressed differently from everyone else in the restaurant came and below was our conversation
Lady X : Yes sir? the manager is not in.
Me: Can you explain to me what is this?
Lady X : Cockroach lor….
Me and my friends was stunned by her nonchalant reply…so i pressed on :
Me: so what are you going to do about this?
Lady X : Nothing i can do.
Me: so you dont even bother to apologize or anything?
Lady X : Nothing i can do sir. if you not happy, you can report to my manager .
Me : So you dont mind if i report this to the media?
Lady X :Go ahead. report lah.
Yes. that was the EXACT conversation. all my friends was stunned by lady x’s reply to us. If this was a mamak next to the drain, i would understand but at an expensive japanese restaurant @ midvalley? we were all too baffled to continue our lunch and we decided to leave and thats was when the MANAGER came to visit us. He kept on apologizing about the cockroach but it was really the attitude of the staff that ruined our lunch. The manager kept insisting to give us a 20% discount but i declined. End of the day, we are not complaining just to get the paltry discount.
So, if you guys are planning to have japanese food in midvalley, i suggest you visit sushi zanmai (gardens) or pasta zanmai(midvalley) instead!
ps: Yeah, if you google OH SUSHI midvalley, you can see quite a few people blogging about how the food and service quality has gone downhill over the years. so please avoid this place unless you wanna meet lady x and some nice cockroaches in your meal.

So what did you think about their reply? it was not very apologetic wasnt it? Anyhow, they gave me 5000 miles points (which is really no big deal really!) so i wonder, what about those customers who are not a member of their loyalty club? what did they get?
I wonder if any of you have had a bad experince with any airlines and if you did anything such as write in a formal complain or provide feedback at the counter?
PS: It took MAS about 1 month to reply my email…so i guess its only proper that it takes me 1 month to post this story…
what would be funnier than this?
