Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 Malaysia Launch

Samsung is launching the galaxy 10.1 in malaysia – saw the ad on the star online

Since i was in the market for an android tablet— i clicked on it to find out more…

sleek looking site i must say

Aafter looking through the site , i decided to buy online. Clicked on the buy now button (see screenshot above) and it took me here

Yeah. exactly. WTF right ? there is nothing wrong with the page but it was more of a problem that digital marketers don’t think of or choose to ignore today. Folks like us that access the internet at office, have social media sites such as facebook, linkedin, and even online email services blocked. I really implore digital planners and creative designers to STOP linking your campaigns to FACEBOOK please. FB is not the mother of all digital campaigns.

So if you think about all the potential customers that samsung is pissing off now are folks with high disposable income and with intention to purchase NOW, how many do you think they are VS those that will access the site from home and elsewhere? hmn…..

on another note….Celcom is planning a big nationwide launch for the galaxy tab,

Samsuming it works.

I recently got really into android phones and whenever i see a promo link or ad, i always click on them. I saw one recently when i was checking my email :

See the new samsung mobile galaxy ad ? i clicked (you can try here) on it and i got this (see below)

waaaat?

Man… i guess everyone knows how expensive it can get sometimes spending money on google adwords. Not to get it properly linked is just bad marketing QC practice. If i were planning and executing online campaigns such as this, i will make sure i check to my links all work, EVERYDAY!!Especially since you have to pay google everytime someone clicks on your link for a cost per click (CPC) campaign!

If you want to learn more about google adwords = click here

I should write about online campaigns (CPC,CPM,CPE,CPR and CPA) one day….when i get some freaking time!

Samsung S2 portable hard disk review

Man…. samsung have one of the priciest 2.5inch portable hard disk out there in the market. I picked up a samsung s2 500gb recently for RM 269 so here is a short review of it :

Packaging

very.....clinical packaging

lots of colour options to choose from

One of the striking feature of the hard disk is the appearance of the disk itself. the casing is so BEAUTIFUL, really… you will not want to scratch this baby at all!

So what do you get out of the box?  a point to note : the white “box” holding the hard disk in place is actually a soft rubbery material and not paper box material! very nice touch samsung…..

whats this? a seperate accessories box? nice....

instruction manual, usb cable and leather pouch!

Very nice of samsung to include the pouch. indeed, they do understand that customers would want to protect the shiny surface of this lovely designed hard disk casing! One thing to note is that if you DO carry your hard disk with the pouch, people will MISTAKE it for a blackberry as the size is and pouch is very similar!

The drive performed very well during transfer tests :

very fast!

CONCLUSION

PRO : Fast and very beautiful colourful designed hard disk casing

Cons : Price (Street price of RM260 for a 500GB)

This is a great 2.5inch hard drive for people who not only want to have functionality but also a trendy and cool looking piece of hardware.

Thanks to samsung malaysia for providing me with a review unit.

VV Group

Welcome to VV Group indeed...everyone falling asleep on the job i think....

Welcome to VV Group indeed...everyone falling asleep on the job i think....

Boy, do i have a great story for you guys.

I really made a mistake in buying a samsung u700 at VV Group midvalley months back. It was a rush purchase and almost closing time too. The price went down almost RM300 the week after! Talk about buyers remorse. Still, i would have appreciated if the staff could at least inform me about the upcoming promo and let me decide if i wanted to buy the phone.

During the 2 months, the battery failed ( i had to send back to FMG to replace) and then the bundled 2GB memory card went Kaput after that. I sent in the memory card back to VV Group Midvalley outlet (11th June 2008) to claim/replace a new one and guess what ? I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT!! ALREADY 2 MONTHS!!! WTF!?

Worst part is when we asked about status, the midvalley outlet will ask us to call workshop in ampang to check for status and then push around back to midvalley. FCUK MAN….

Anyways, VV Group have a COMPLAIN “HOT”LINE number ( 03-2711 1188) and i can guess why. I spoke to the customer service lady Ms Manja and after speaking to her, she said she will check and update me in 1 hours time (because the midvalley outlet not opened yet) .

This is what i think she will respond to me :

1) The memory card is already in midvalley. Please Collect Sir. case closed.

2) Sir, the memory card is STILL in claim process. We are waiting for FMG/Samsung bla bla bla….

Lets see what happens next…
